Leather Work

To me, a full costume is just that, everything you need to complete your outfit (except for footwear).  This is generally the type of order that takes the longest to complete.  A full costume can take anywhere from 2 weeks to 2 months to complete depending on what is requested.  The photo shown is a costume based on a video game and took approximately 2 months to finish.  However, the trade off for being patient is you get a completely finished, cohesive look, with each component blending into the next seamlessly.

On a tight budget? In a hurry? Maybe you have been able to source most of the pieces that you need but are just missing those last couple of details?  Many people want to make their own costumes but are intimidated by pieces like this pictured belt buckle.  This where I can help!  I have a variety of materials available to me that allow for very detailed work.  Don't let an inability to find or make a specific piece stop you from having the best costume you can for the lowest budget possible.

Fantasy, Meet Reality

I create completely custom leather goods to fufill every customers personal desires.  I also work with other materials including: vinyl, PVC, chain and many others.  From steampunk tablet cases to PVC or leather corsets, hand tooled leather masks to feathered hair accessories, every item is unique as every item is made by hand.

Full and partial custom costumes are also available for cosplay, rennesaince fairs and comicons.

Full/Partial Costumes & Accessories

Leather has always stood for quality.  At  Leather and Feathers BC we use only the highest quality leather.

All of our accessories including, phone/tablet cases, hair accessories, collars etc are made from high grade vegetable tanned leather.  This is a thicker leather then most standard leather items you buy in the store and is known as tooling leather.  It is the thickness that allows us to "cut in" and "tool" the leather giving it it's 3D designs. It can then be dyed, stained or handpainted.  For examples of tooling with hand painting see the gallery section and look for the peacock tablet case or feathered mask.

All clothing is made using high grade garment leather.  The garment grade is the thinner, more supple leather required for something that needs to flex and bend with the body.  Although tooling and painting is not recommended for garment leather, you can still add personal style with the addition of coloured topstitching, corset style lacing and other fun details.
